Pediatric Dentistry

At Rana Dental, we love welcoming children into our practice and helping them build healthy habits from the very beginning. Dr. Hetal Rana and our team provide gentle, kid-friendly dental care designed to support your child’s oral health as they grow. To schedule your child’s visit, call us at 916-774-4499.

Compassionate Dental Care for Kids

We offer pediatric dentistry for children starting with their very first dental visit and throughout their growing years. Our team is warm, patient, and experienced in helping children feel safe and comfortable in the dental chair.

We recommend bringing your child in every six months for a routine cleaning and exam. During these visits, we:

  • Gently clean and polish their teeth

  • Check for cavities and early dental concerns

  • Monitor tooth eruption and jaw development

  • Support healthy brushing and flossing skills

  • Provide guidance for parents on diet and home care

Our goal is to create positive dental experiences that build confidence and set the foundation for lifelong oral health.

Early Orthodontic Evaluation & Growth Guidance

Healthy smiles start with healthy jaw growth and airway development. At Rana Dental, we assess more than just teeth — we look at how your child’s jaws are forming, how their bite is developing, and whether there is enough space for the tongue and incoming permanent teeth.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic screening by age 7.
Early evaluation allows us to identify concerns while the jaws are still growing and easier to guide.

Early orthodontic monitoring can help us identify:

  • Narrow arches or crowding

  • Crossbites, open bites, or overbites

  • Mouth breathing or airway issues

  • Tongue posture concerns

  • Habits affecting growth (thumb sucking, tongue thrusting)

When caught early, many issues can be guided or corrected more easily, potentially reducing the need for extractions, braces, or extensive treatment later in life.

If early treatment is needed, we’ll discuss gentle options such as growth guidance, habit correction, space management, or early Invisalign® First when appropriate.

Healthy Habits Start at Home

Along with regular checkups, good daily habits play a big role in protecting your child’s smile. Encourage your child to:

  • Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste

  • Floss every night

  • Limit sugary snacks and drinks

  • Maintain consistent dental visits

Our team will help you and your child build a routine that keeps their smile healthy between visits.

A Supportive, Positive Environment

We know how important it is for children to feel safe and understood during their dental appointments. Our team creates a calm, encouraging environment where kids can learn, grow, and feel confident about their dental care.

If you have questions about your child’s oral development, orthodontic readiness, or habits you’re noticing at home, we’re always here to help. Call us at 916-774-4499 — we’re honored to support your family’s smile journey.
