Cleanings and Exams
Routine dental exams and cleanings are a crucial part of preventive care. These visits help maintain your oral health, prevent cavities and periodontal (gum) disease, and ensure that any developing concerns are identified and treated early. To keep your smile healthy and stable, Rana Dental recommends visiting our office at least every six months for a comprehensive exam and professional cleaning.

Cleanings
Routine professional dental cleanings are essential for maintaining good oral health and preventing cavities and periodontal (gum) disease. During your hygiene visit, our team provides a thorough and comfortable cleaning while evaluating the overall health of your teeth and gums.
During your appointment, we will:
-
Examine your mouth for signs of dental conditions or gum disease
-
Use digital X-rays when needed to assess areas not visible to the eye
-
Remove plaque and tartar (calculus) to prevent decay and gum inflammation
-
Polish and floss your teeth for a clean, refreshed, and healthy smile

Exams and Diagnostic Care
At Rana Dental, we gather comprehensive digital records to support a thorough and accurate examination. Our office uses low-radiation digital X-rays, along with a digital health scan and detailed intraoral photos, to capture a complete picture of your oral health. These images are available instantly, allowing our providers to review them in real time and deliver efficient, precise, and informed care.
Periodontal Maintenance
If your gums are tender, red, swollen, or bleed easily, you may be experiencing periodontal (gum) disease. This condition is caused by bacteria that accumulate above and below the gumline, leading to inflammation and gradual damage to the gums and supporting bone. When left untreated, periodontal disease can result in gum recession, bone loss, and even tooth loss.
While gum disease cannot be fully cured, it can be effectively managed. After completing initial periodontal treatment, we recommend ongoing periodontal maintenance visits every 3–4 months. These visits help control bacteria levels, stabilize your gums, and prevent the disease from progressing.
During each periodontal maintenance appointment, our hygienists clean both above and below the gumline, removing plaque, tartar, and harmful bacteria to protect your oral health and support long-term stability.
