Cleanings and Exams

An important part of preventive care is receiving routine dental exams and cleanings. Regular exams and cleanings are essential in maintaining good oral health, preventing cavities and gum disease, and making sure that any damaging conditions are treated as early as possible. To monitor your oral health and provide any additional treatments that may be needed, Rana Dental highly recommends our patients visit our office at least every 6 months.

Cleanings

Routine professional dental cleanings are essential in maintaining good oral health, and preventing cavities and gum disease as so known as periodontal disease. During your hygiene appointment, our dental team will:

  • Examine your smile for any signs of damaging dental conditions or diseases.

  • Utilize dental x-rays to further evaluate your smile and make certain that you receive the best dental care you need.

  • Clean your teeth by removing any plaque or dental calculus (tartar), which can lead to tooth decay and periodontal disease.

  • Polish and floss your teeth for a bright and healthy smile.

Exams and Diagnostic Care

At Rana Dental it is important to gather comprehensive digital records to assist in providing a thorough examination. We utilize digital x-ray technology to significantly reduce radiation exposure, compared to conventional film x-rays, as well as a digital health scan and intraoral pictures. Our Providers can instantly view the images to provide you with efficient, accurate diagnosis and care.

Periodontal Maintenance

If your gums are tender, red, swollen, or bleed easily, you may be suffering from gum disease; clinically known as Periodontal Disease. This is a degenerative condition caused by bacteria in plaque that accumulates both above and below the gumline. When left untreated, periodontal disease can result in the loss of teeth, gum tissue, and bone. While gum disease is not curable, we can treat the condition and keep it under control to protect your oral health. If you have periodontal disease and have completed your treatment, we recommend an ongoing treatment plan with visits every 3-4 months for periodontal maintenance. Periodontal maintenance helps to keep your teeth and gums healthy and prevents the return of gum disease. During your periodontal maintenance appointment, our hygienists will clean above and below the gum line, removing plaque, dental calculus (tartar), and bacteria to prevent the condition from worsening.
